Hot-Rolled grinding balls with
increased hardness
Our Balls and SAG mill balls are manufactured from rolled billets of our own vacuum-cast carbon alloy steel, undergoing the most detailed factory testing-analogous to automotive and tooling billets. Billet production is located within our manufacturing facility.
The steel balls offered by us are products that have gathered the many years of experience, talent, skills and efforts of Bulgarian specialists and craftsmen in their quest to achieve the best product, from 1967 until today.
This is the first ball production in the world with a complete configuration from raw material to finished product:
- Raw material: iron scrap
- Steel mining
- Rolling of blanks
- Production of balls from them
The production has over 57 years of continuous experience and improvement, with the implementation of the best metallurgical and technological achievements. Production is carried out by highly qualified personnel, including specialists with over 20 years of experience.
Sizes produced by us:
Ф60-Ф70-Ф80-Ф90-Ф100-Ф110-Ф125 are hardened to the center and are characterized by very high hardness, which ensures a low consumption rate per ton of ground ore, reduced re-grinding, accordingly very good flotation, low consumption of electricity and linings, etc., due to reduced slippage of the grinding mass, respectively reduced repairs and downtime, therefore, low consumption of reagents for finishing.
The production of balls is carried out according to original company technology /including 2 patents/.

The technology provides:
All metallurgical and technological requirements of production. As a result, during wear, the balls retain their spherical shape to small sizes and provide a high ball load density.
In the heat treatment, we include procedures /according to each specific use/ to prevent broken balls when working in the mills.
The new product for 2023 are balls for SAG mills with very high impact loads, including mills with diameters over 10m in cataract mode.

Vacuum degassed grinding rods
EL Stamona produces rods for grinding ore in rod mills with the dimensions required by the customer in terms of diameter and length. The bars comply with international standards EN 10060 and have CE marking EN 10025:2004 (S235JR, S275JR, S355J2, S355JR). Vacuum degassing and optimal toughness guarantee the long life of the rods during exploitation.
Lengths:
1. Standard length 6,00 m
2. Non-standard lengths in the range of 5.00-7.20 m.
3. Non-standard lengths in the range of 10.00m-12.00m for a size range of 22-83mm
4. Acceptable non-standard lengths.
5. Non-standard lengths by agreement and subject to a minimum order of 40 items per size and type.

Quality control
The quality of the billets and rods in the process of their production is controlled for each individual procedure in terms of chemical composition, vacuum degassing, physical-mechanical, metallurgical qualities, etc. in the Central General Combined Laboratory (CCL) at f. "Stomana Industry" JSC, located 200 m from the production of balls.
In the process of production, research and control of the physico-mechanical properties of the balls is carried out in the metallurgical OTC laboratory of the workshop, after preparation of representative samples of the specialized ones developed for the case:
- grinding machine (express precision grinding - up to 60", up to 40°С)
- cutting unit (cutting - up to 45', up to 30°C)
- machine for impact tests (impact up to 1200 kg.m/unit)
The workshop control is every hour, and the incoming and dispatch control - for each batch.
Logistics
El Stomana provides road and rail transport for the delivery of the product at the customer's request, in packaging:
- bulk
- in big bag, up to 1000kg
- in metal barrels 200 l., up to 1000 kg
- containers 20Ft.
Storage facilities
The volume in our warehouses ensures our ability to offer delivery within one working day of order.
